The Maternity Benefits (Amendment ) Act 2017 was recently notified by the Government and has become applicable from 1st April 2017. “Veena Gopalakrishnan is an employment law expert at AZB & Partners and is based out of Bangalore. She has advised and assisted several organisations, including information technology companies, on various aspects of Indian employment law, including, employment benefits, work hours, overtime, enforceability of non-compete restrictions and employment bonds, employee stock options, termination of employment, disciplinary action, severance and release arrangements.
She has been extensively involved in advisory pertaining to workplace sexual harassment, legal aspects of diversity and inclusiveness, including drafting and reviewing employment policies and educating employers on their duties and obligations in this respect.
