NASSCOM’s collaboration with Blockchain Research Institute


In our effort to develop and nurture an ecosystem for emerging technologies, on February 22nd 2018, NASSCOM signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Blockchain Research Institute (BRI), to catalyse Blockchain capabilities in India. As per Thinkers50 2017, Don Tapscott, the founder of BRI is ranked as the #2 Most Influential Thinker in the world.

There is no doubt that Blockchain technology will become ubiquitous in the next few years. Blockchain will revolutionize the way we will do business, and will cut across all sectors and functions. BRI conducts cutting-edge research on the impact of Blockchain on Businesses, Governments, and Society. This research is conducted by 40 of the world’s top Blockchain thinkers and practitioners.

  1. FOOD TRACEABILITY ON BLOCKCHAIN: This lighthouse case study explains how Walmart implemented a Blockchain solution for Food Provenance in two pilot projects. This was useful in the event of a health issue, it increased supply chain visibility improving profitability. Walmart’s experience shows how Blockchain technology can increase the accuracy, utility, and timeliness of data.
  2. ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING AND BLOCKCHAIN: This case study illuminates how the combination of Blockchain and additive manufacturing increases precision, and reduces the costs of maintenance, inventory, and shipping.
