At the NCR GCC Meet on March 2022, the NASSCOM Policy Team made a presentation highlighting changes that have been proposed to the Personal Data Protection Bill 2019 by the Joint Parliamentary Committee in their Report released in December 2021. The Report contained a new Data Protection Bill 2021 (Bill).

The presentation focused on (1) the new subjects introduced in the Bill - such as frameworks for the certification of hardware and software or new data subject rights (2) the regulation of international data transfers under the Bill and (3) a review of the Bill from a data adequacy perspective.

The presentation is attached herewith. For more information, please contact varun@nasscom.in or apurva@nasscom.in.
