The Haryana Government had sought inputs from various stakeholders for the State Budget 2022-23. In this regard, NASSCOM has shared the following suggestions with the state government:

  1. Establishment of Deep Tech Fund

Start-ups working in frontier technologies - Advanced Materials, Artificial Intelligence, Block chain, Biotechnology, Drones and Robotics, Photonics and Electronics, Edge Computing and Quantum Computing - have huge potential and represent the Deep Tech landscape.

Deep tech as a sector is gaining momentum globally. According to “NASSCOM Tech Startup Report 2021 – Year of the Titans”, India has 3000+ Deep Tech start-ups that are  building innovative solutions.

Suggestion - In order to promote deep-tech startups in Haryana, State government should establish a fund of INR 10 crores to provide seed funding to deep-tech startups.

  1. Data Centre Policy

In State Budget 2021-22, it was highlighted that the Haryana Government will formulate a Data Centre Policy to provide impetus to the development and growth of the Large Data Centre Industry. The policy will aim to provide regulatory and fiscal benefits on land and infrastructure, power, renewable energy, water and connectivity for setting up of a Data Centre ecosystem.

For this, NASSCOM has shared its inputs and participated in the consultation process. However, the Data centre policy is yet to be notified.

Suggestion - In this regard, we request the Haryana government to expedite notification of data centre policy.
