When it comes to farming equipment there are many devices and equipment that the producers use for a higher potential yield and to gain more profit. Although the list of equipment is long, some of the storage equipment is necessary for protecting the grains from getting damaged and deteriorate. Here is our list of hand-picked equipment that producers must invest in:

1. Grain Temp Guard Alarm System (HT & DT)

This alarm system is able to monitor and control your grain storage at optimal conditions. It will set off an audible alarm whenever the temperature goes above or below the optimum values, allowing you time to react before it becomes too late. The monitoring period starts as soon as the probe(s) are inserted into the grain, so you can leave the premises without worrying about forgetting to turn on this device. Excess humidity can cause mold growth, microbial growth, condensation and spoilage. The Grain Temp Guard Alarm Systems - HT  and DT are designed to be used in conjunction with the standard system and monitors two areas of concern: high temperature and excess humidity. If either condition exists, you will receive an audio alarm on the main unit.

When installing the Grain Temp Guard Alarm System DT,  to monitor the dried grain, one unit is required for tracking 10,000 to 20,000 bushels of grains. However,  two units are able to monitor up to 40,000 bushels. The alarm system needs to be connected with the probes using cables. Whether you are cooling grain down or warming back the stored grains, the  Grain Temp Guard Alarm System DT is an effective device.

Similarly, when installing the Alarm HT for grains such as corn, wheat, soybean etc. at the time of monitoring the humidity of the grains,  several cables can be connected to the device for the proper functioning of the grin bin monitoring system

2. EndZone Fan Controls

Automatic Fan controls allow producers to turn fans on automatically when conditions such as heat or moisture build-up occur within their grain bins/silos. This prevents overheating and moisture damage that can lead to mold growth and ruin product quality. For most fan controls, power is supplied by a low voltage wire from a photocell or other light source installed in close proximity of the fan, such as a roof peak. The fan controls are useful when aerating the harvested, stored grains when adding or removing the moisture content from corns, soybean, wheat, etc. 

3. Grain Temp Guard Probes

The simple monitoring system gives producers peace of mind when they can't continuously monitor their stored grain. It is the easiest way to manually monitor your stored grain for potential spoilage problems. Simply place the probes into one or more locations in the bin at intervals of 5 feet or so, away from moving air currents, and receive an audio alarm if conditions indicate that spoilage may be starting to occur. The number of probes required in the bin depends upon the capacity of the storage bin or as per the bushels stored in the bin. 

 

4. Grain Temp Guard Dual System

Grain Temp Gurar Dual System is a combination of dual alarm systems that helps in tracking the temperature as well as the humidity levels inside the bins.   The producers can have the benefit of Alarm DT and Alarm HT in one device, however, producers can have their own combinations of selecting either the two Alarm DTs or two Alarm HTs.  Grain Temp Guard Dual System works effectively to keep a track of the temperature and humidity levels inside the bins. But they need to be connected with the Grain Temp Guard Alarm Probes DT and HT respectively that are placed at various spots inside the bin. 

 

To arrange a grain bin monitoring system for storing the grains, at least 2 probes per bin are suggested for 10,000 to 20,000 bushels. Apart from this, one additional probe is required for each additional 10,000 to 15,000 bushels for the bins. This is helpful for monitoring every layer of the grain throughout the bin.
