“The Earth is what we all have in common”-Wendell Berry

Now a days environmental problem is the biggest problem all over the world.Artificial Intelligence finds application in a wide array of environmental sectors, including natural resource conservation, wildlife protection, energy management, clean energy, waste management, pollution control and agriculture.

AI Applications in Environmental part: We are all grappling with environmental issues such as global warming, rising pollution levels, generation of unsustainable waste, and much more beyond human control. Therefore, it is imperative that we take concrete steps in the protection of the human race and the ecosystem as a whole.

Climate Change:

Use of machine learning to optimize energy generation and demand in real-time; better grid systems with increased predictability and increased efficiency, and use of renewable energy.

AI is already being used in smart transport eg: google maps and Waze, where Machine learning algorithms are used to optimize navigation; increase safety and provide information regarding traffic flows and congestion

AI for agricultural sustainability:

Soil pollution is a major issue faced today due to population growth. Food production is the key to sustenance of human life on earth. Application of AI and IoT for environmental sustainability includes methods to monitor crops and soil and maximize crop production with a low impact on the environment. Anomalies can be detected and resolved immediately. Parameters such as hydration, plant nutrition, and diseases can be monitored in real-time.

Ocean Health:

AI can gather data from ocean locations that are hard or impossible to reach and thus, help protect species and habitats. Illegal fishing can also be tracked using AI.AI-powered robots can be used to monitor ocean conditions such as pollution levels, temperature and pH.

AI for water preservation:

Human exploitation of natural resources have had a harmful impact on major water bodies. Autonomous garbage collection trucks, powered by AI, are helping us get rid of the trash from oceans. AI can also help assess the changing conditions that harm the ocean such as illegal fishing, discharging industrial effluents into water bodies and illegal solid waste disposal by the local people.

Healthy Air:

Air purifiers with AI can record air quality and environmental data in real-time and adapt the filtration efficiency. AI-powered simulations can send warnings to people living in urban areas about the pollution levels of their areas. There are tools that can detect the pollution sources quickly and accurately.Using data from vehicles, radar sensors and cameras AI can help improve air pollution.

AI for reducing e-waste:

Millions of electronic devices are discarded without proper disposal. The amalgamation of hardware and software can prove beneficial for environmental protection. Major companies can use AI and IoT for environmental sustainability along with eco-friendly hardware to reduce the generation of e-waste.

Conclusion:

The use of AI for environmental sustainability is proving to be one of the most useful tools in our fight for environmental balance. Business organization can implement AI in their process to act more responsibly towards the environment.
