Under the aegis of the NASSCOM Cloud Advocacy Program (NCAP), 2^nd Government Round Table on Cloud Adoption was held on 29^th October 2021.

Key Learnings from the session

Cloud has accelerated the journey from Automation to Hyper-Automation in PSUs, augmented AI rides over cloud for mass deployments. There has been a tectonic shift in the product innovation system being offered with nearly all innovation occurring on Cloud rather than on-premises.
Cloud ensures regulatory compliance vis-à-vis data privacy and protection with on-demand services being available in real time basis. Managed Private Cloud Services wherein leading CSPs can manage the on-prem Data Centres and optimisation services can be availed on cloud is an easy way to address Localization issues and harness power of cloud at the same time.
Hybrid Cloud caters to challenges faced by PSUs and can provide a way out of the vendor lock-in’s, Governments and PSUs are hesitant for cloud deployments in case there is price escalation or non-serviceability of certain services therefore Hybrid Cloud with distributed DC/DR architecture is the sought-after solution. For Testing upgrades and DR facilities on-demand cloud services are a boon and a cost-effective way to ensure mass deployment during the Production Stage of Application/Services.
Cloud Strategy in PSUs starting from Defining Cloud to integrating with the Business functions and procurement of Cloud is a key success metric for ensuring successful Cloud implementation in PSUs. This strategy helps the Procurement, Technical and Business teams come together to deliver measurable value for cloud adoption in PSUs.
Dynamic sourcing, accurate measurement and spend forecasting is a key determinant for the success in Public Sector. By it’s very nature, Cloud Technology delivers on all three aspects and therefore success of the Technology in PSU is assured.
Evaluation of Data Security Risks and developing a mitigation plan is key to success of a Cloud Implementation Plan in PSUs. Assessing the Human Capital/in-house Talent is a big concern for PSUs while orchestrating Hybrid Cloud models.
