‘The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn.’ – Alvin Toffler.

Technology is evolving at a pace never seen before, bringing immense changes in how people and businesses will function. Evolving technologies will likely make some traditional job roles obsolete. At the same time, the change in the business landscape will create demand for new skills. The skill challenge is more amplified since most of these current occupations will evolve into non-routine jobs requiring abilities that we cannot augment from the existing roles.

Therefore, the current and future workforce needs to adopt and practice the new art of learning, unlearning, and relearning to remain relevant and withstand Industry 4.0, Web 3.0, Metaverse, and many more revolutions in the making.

Companies also have the onus to prepare their employees for this change. They need to foster an environment that promotes digital-first culture and drives continuous learning. More than anything else, this is a cultural transformation that needs to be driven along with the continuously upgrading technology.

Up-skilling platforms powered by new-age technologies are investing continuously in developing new-age content and learning methodologies that can help industries sustain in this fast-changing environment. These platforms today not only have the content but also provide experiential learning that motivates employees to continue their learning path.

Learning, Un-learning and Re-learning will fast become a new normal. Employees and Companies need to embrace it and prepare themselves for the future.
