The Government of Haryana is currently in the process of formulating and adopting  a Data Centre Policy. Given the unprecedented pace in which data is being created, stored and used in the country, we believe it’s the right time to come up with policies and initiatives to incentivise, enable and facilitate creation of Data Infrastructure in India. The Govt of India, has already initiated the process to adopt a National level Data Centre Policy and the efforts by the State Government can complement the efforts of GOI and and help create a favourable environment for the growth of the sector.

In this context, on February 08, 2021, NASSCOM made a submission to the Department of IT, Govt of Haryana highlighting the key requirements of the industry. In our submission, among other things, we suggested that the State Govt. introduce a deemed approval system for regulatory clearance, adopt independent building design norms to meet of the unique structural requirements and allow Data Centers to procure and use renewable energy for 100% of their needs.

Our submission is appended.
