Historically, Global Capability Centers (GCCs) have focused more on performance metrics like cost savings and efficiency to measure value and growth. This has resulted in scorecards centered around lagging indicators that showcase past performance but fail to provide a complete picture. With increased focus on cultural elements like diversity and inclusion as well as sustainability initiatives, metrics that measure organizational health and engagement levels are even more important. Relying solely on cost arbitrage and backward-looking productivity numbers risks disconnecting GCCs from broader corporate goals.

Our session will go beyond the standard performance metrics and redefine cost arbitrage to focus more on forward-looking parameters that align to corporate strategy. We will help develop a more multi-dimensional scorecard that factors in lagging metrics like productivity and cost savings as well as forward-looking metrics like customer lifetime value, revenue impact of innovation, and diversity representation that provide a healthier long-term outlook. This balanced scorecard will help create strategic alignment between GCCs and the broader organization.

By balancing the scorecard between lagging indicators that measure solid performance on service delivery and efficiency and forward-looking indicators that track progress on innovation, customer centricity, organizational health, and other future-oriented goals, GCCs can showcase their evolving strategic value and sustainability. The broader scorecard will tell a richer story of how GCCs enable strategic objectives in addition to providing world-class capabilities for the global organization.
