Retail is one of the most disrupted industries through COVID-19 outbreak and post-outbreak Retail won’t be the same. It will be New Retail. Technology and new retail are synonymous, and it will be nothing but the convergence of physical and digital commerce. Though digital disruption in retail had already begun, this outbreak has acted as a catalyst by speeding up the adoption across formats & categories. Earlier this was largely driven by the market pressure created by e-com players as well as customers demanding digital experiences. A large number of jobs are expected to be impacted for various reasons, contactless commerce, automated supply chain, and many other digital initiatives. Consumer behavior is going to change, the way they were shopping, frequency of shopping, ticket size and this is where data will come into play. It’s an opportunity for all retail brands to re-establish their brand and this will be possible only if they can deliver the quality of experience and service which consumers demand or expect
