Helping GCCs to resolve the generational challenge of process inefficiencies

For over 20 years, companies have trusted partners and captives with delivering many of their key finance, supply chain and technical transactional processes with Global Capability Centers (GCCs).  This trust is built from the region's large scale technical and process subject matter expertise focused on continuous improvement.  India is home to 1430+ GCCs. Recent years have seen an evolution of the role of the GCC’s from a transactional delivery service to value creation partner to drive strategic business outcomes.

Why an intelligent Execution Management System (EMS) is crucial for GCCs

GCCs are strategically positioned to accelerate business outcomes with an EMS capabilities to optimize processes such as procurement, payment, shipment and collection.

The transfer of processes to GCC’s in many instances has focused on the lift and shift approach with an aspiration to transform the latter.  However, complex technical legacies, pressure to drive process transformation and automation pose continuous challenges.  For most processes the transform step never happened or was extremely slow to deliver.  The difficulty to transform has been due to the lack of data driven transparency on how the process was actually performing with a true end to end view even across multiple systems.  Even if the root cause was identified, the solution to fix generally was too expensive or didn’t have the desired impact.

The average company runs their processes over hundreds of systems that don’t play nicely together. Complexity builds up over time and incubates hidden inefficiencies across processes, people and technology.  The combination of these factors creates a breeding ground for hidden inefficiencies inside every company. EMS helps companies reveal and fix inefficiencies they can’t see, enabling them to perform at levels they never thought possible.

EMS driving process efficiency and tangible value

EMS transforms the way GCC’s work and think about driving business performance leveraging data, intelligence and action. Once the process is modeled, the solution continuously automates process diagnoses, leverages intelligence to identify root cause and recommend next best action.  The automation process monitor performance now allows companies to shift from big transformation to continuously improved business performance.

In a recent interview with a global GPG Company, who deployed an EMS across their Order to Cash and Procure to Pay processes, they cited: “The initial implementation of Accounts Receivable helped us positively impact our P&L and Cash Flow.” Reports of similar value being achieved continue in Procure to Pay.

People at the heart of every transformation

Outcomes cannot be achieved without the right people capabilities.  According to EY’s GCC (Global Capability Center) Pulse survey 2021, 74% of GCCs are acting as global hubs for digital skills and delivery. Most GCCs see themselves as an incubation engine with structured ideation processes that help generate, assess, and pilot new ideas.   An execution management platform greatly enhances the ability of the GCCs to contribute to providing data driven insights to their Global Organization and a successful deployment requires a strong team of both technical and subject matter experts. Both of this improve the profile of a GCC.

GCC entities have unmatched expertise combining both the technical expertise and process expertise to quickly scale across Finance and Supply Chain to quickly identify value that is hidden within the end-to-end workflow.  Increased scale and scope, provide a total control tower view of an organization's key processes that impact almost all revenue and expenses.

GCC’s can now move from process outcomes to focused business outcomes that impact the top, bottom and green line of their company.
