Government of Telangana launches T-AIM (Telangana AI Mission) in partnership with NASSCOM with the first Governing Council meet convened

Government of Telangana State launched Telangana AI Mission (T-AIM) in partnership with NASSCOM, as a part of its “2020 Year of AI” initiative. The vision is to establish Telangana as a global hub for Artificial Intelligence and leverage it for societal good.

The first Governing council meeting was convened on 2nd July and was attended by the council members comprising of;

  • Jayesh Ranjan, IAS, Principal Secretary, Government of Telangana*
  • Debjani Ghosh, President, NASSCOM
  • P. Anandan, CEO, Wadhwani AI
  • Purushottam Kaushik, Head, C4IR-WEF
  • Vishal Dhupar, Managing Director, South Asia, nVIDIA
  • Nivruti Rai, Country Head – India, Intel
  • Prof BS Murthy, Director, IIT Hyderabad

(* represented by Ms. Rama Devi Lanka, Director Emerging Technologies & Officer on Special Duty ITE&C Department at Government of Telangana)

Ms. Rama Devi Lanka elaborated the government’s vision, commitment, framework and achievements till date for the AI mandate.

Mr. Snehanshu Mitra, Head NASSCOM’s CoE DS&AI presented the strategic roadmap and key priorities for the current year of T-AIM’s operations.

The council decided on key focus areas such as Agriculture and Healthcare, with members proposing collaborations on behalf of their respective organizations.

The council will convene next in October to assess the progress during the current quarter.
