Following closely on the heels of the Consumer Interest Protection Taskforce, NASSCOM BPM Council announced that it will be working with the West Bengal Police to setup up a coordination committee that aims to protect consumer interests globally from fraudulent acts. That, we cannot be only reactive anymore speaks volumes of two things. One, the incidence of such threats is significantly on the rise, and two, folks are now cognizant about this major issue and taking concrete steps to negate it.

This association would entail, that the WB police will set up a nodal cell to deal with cybercrime. It will be supported by cyber forensic labs in carrying out surveillance and investigation, and will not only be responsible for bringing the perpetuators to book, but will also put in place processes to ensure that suspicious organizations and individuals are identified and prevented from carrying out criminal activities.

The BPM industry is committed to ensure the highest levels of information security over corporate and end-customer confidential information while protecting consumer interests. This initiative will help implement a coordinated effort in association with the West Bengal Police in creating countermeasures aimed at preventing fraudulent activities online.
