Among the three startups that showcased in the MeitY’s RAISE 2020 AI showcase, co-organised by CoE & STPI, we had zeroed on Radical Health enterprise in the previous article. In this piece we will be underlining the ground-breaking innovation that Peer Robotics has broached in the manufacturing ecosystem to help humans and robots work together in an affable alliance to make industrial operations smooth sailing.

Peer Robotics: Designing Robots to work with Humans

NASSCOM CoE Gurugram incubated, Peer Robotics, has developed Collaborative Autonomous robots for warehouse automation and material handling in manufacturing facilities, logistics companies which can seamlessly navigate through complex environments without any change in the existing infrastructure.

Called the RM100, it is integrated with the patented force feedback based mechanism that allows it to detect external human force and activates the drive in the direction of guiding force. Using sensor fusion from multiple onboard sensors, RM100 can localize itself in any complex surrounding, reducing any human effort to provide initial position data to the robot. It has a payload capacity of 100kg. A bot simply doing pick & place has limited functionality but RM100 has the capability that allows mounting of multiple attachments like manipulators, gripper arms, welding torches etc on its chassis to make it multifunctional.

Peer Robotics provides a simulation of the facility with the bot deployed, even before the actual deployment to assess the impact of the solution for the enterprise.

Benefits of RM 100 Collaborative Autonomous robots:

  1. Operators with no experience can program the robots. It takes 1-2 hrs for reprogramming the robots
  2. It is capable of performing multiple tasks like Material Handling, Package Sorting, Visual Inspection, etc.
  3. It is completely safe to work along with humans and 0% investment required in safety infrastructure

Current Deployments:

Peer Robotics is working along with major Indian automobile and manufacturing industries like Maruti Suzuki and Siemens solving critical challenges in the field of internal logistics in their manufacturing lines and warehouses.

Peer Robotics is currently associated with Qualcomm as a part of the QDIC challenge, making headways in equipping the healthcare sector with revolutionary autonomous collaborative robot. Being a NASSCOM COE-IoT & AI incubated firm, it has been getting persistent support in Product development and Co-Creation opportunities with NASSCOM’s Corporate Partners. The innovators of this remarkable firm are enthused about bringing new innovation and revolutions in the future.
