DriveWithIoT: Connected Vehicles – The Next Big Thing

Vehicles as we know them are going through a serious transformation on multiple fronts. The Connected Vehicles bandwagon is something that everyone wants to be aboard and DriveWithIoT is a series of programs that aims to lead the way in this incredible transitional journey.

NASSCOM’s Centre of Excellence – IoT recently hosted a session on ‘DriveWithIoT: Connected Vehicles – The Next Big Thing’, at the NASSCOM Product Conclave, Pune on the 18th of March. The session brought together the leading innovators, corporates & experts in the automotive space to discuss the future of Connected Vehicles.

The Keynote for the session was delivered by Dr. Roshy John who is popularly known as the man who converted a Nano into India’s first driverless car, which was followed by a talk on ADAS/Autonomous Driving by Mr. Ritukar Vijay from HiTech Robotic Systemz.

The insightful narrations from Dr. Roshy and Ritukar set the stage for an in-depth panel discussion on IoT in Auto which was moderated by Shivalik Sen from VahAnalytics. The esteemed panel included Rajat Proothi from Mahindra, Prabhavathy AS from Intel, Shriram Deshpande from John Deere, Gregor Matenaer from CMore Automotive and Ramakrishna Donakonda from BOSCH. There was an enthusiastic exchange of Q&A’s on various topics like the advent of IoT in Automotive, impact of connected automotive on commercial and personal vehicles, telematics and driver behaviour analysis.

The conclusion of the panel discussion welcomed on stage some leading innovators in the automotive space to showcase their unique and disruptive technologies.

The entire session was well received and greatly appreciated by the attendees and participants alike to set the tone for many such programs on DriveWithIoT in the future.
