NASSCOM CoE Gandhinagar & JK Lakshmi Cement Ltd. Collaborate To Drive Innovation & Co-Creation In Manufacturing

NASSCOM Centre of Excellence (CoE) IoT & AI Gandhinagar has entered a partnership with JK Lakshmi Cement Ltd to drive innovation through a unique Co-Create Partnership Program, a collaborative lab that will transform their plants into smart factories.

Under this Co-Create partnership Program , NASSCOM CoE Gandhinagar will assist JK Lakshmi Cement Ltd. to build a technology roadmap through identification of areas for digitization, followed by connecting them with startup ecosystem and academia for developing solutions using advanced technologies like AI, IoT, Robotics, AR/VR.

Naveen Kumar Sharma, Sr. Vice President (Works), J K Lakshmi Cement Ltd., said, “Sustenance of business in future will depend on the sustainable use of various natural resources and for that use of ML, AL, IoT, etc. in the manufacturing process will be the key. Our association with NASSCOM CoE will be a great help in co-creation of various technology based solutions to boost sustainability.”

As part of the engagement, NASSCOM CoE hosted a Design Thinking Workshop for JK Lakshmi Cement Ltd. team at Gandhinagar. The objective of the workshop was to have a structured approach to identify challenges faced by JK Lakshmi Cement Ltd., both at manufacturing units and services, and prioritize focus areas where technology can help. Thirty-two senior professionals across departments from JK Lakshmi Cement’s Gujarat and Rajasthan plants participated in a day-long workshop.

Amit Saluja, Senior Director and Head, NASSCOM Center of Excellence IoT & AI, Gandhinagar, added, “Design Thinking is absolutely the best way to build a digital transformation strategy. Several organizations, especially manufacturing companies, are looking to adopt digital technologies but are not sure where and how to start. I recommend all these organizations to use design thinking as an approach to identify priority areas to focus before getting into implementation. We are happy to work with enterprises in Gujarat and other regions who require help in digital adoption and are keen to leverage startup ecosystem to achieve the same. ”

In addition, corporate innovation programs have witnessed a marked increase with a strong focus on co-innovation. With co-creation gaining momentum in India, leading enterprises across the manufacturing industry are seeking strategic innovation partners to develop solutions specific to their businesses that can help improve internal operations and grow customer connections. The agreement signed by NASSCOM CoE with JK Lakshmi Cement Ltd. is an example of industry partnership that will also help build a strong startup ecosystem and collaboration with academia.
