NASSCOM hosted the first NCR GIC session under the new leadership of Jasjit Singh Kang, Aon and Ankur Dhingra, American Express, as Chair and Co-Chair respectively of the Northern Region. The meeting witnessed spirited participation from GICs, a diverse yet balanced mix of BFSI, Product, Engineering, and Retail.

It provided an opportunity to explore how GICs can lead in innovation, and engage to work closely with the start-up community. An apt moment it was, for sharing the vision, dissecting themes and deep-diving into initiatives of the National GIC Forum for 2016-17. In addition, the NASSCOM Secretariat presented on the 5 themes as identified by the National Council and sought inputs from the participants. A calendar of events / sessions was also finalised for the next 3 months. The key areas of focus for NCR will be, Value Added Services, RPA, CSR, Start-up connect/ NIPP/Innovation, HR and Talent. Emphasis was also laid on Data security, ops risk and frauds and their ensuing threats.

An overview of the 10000 Startups Initiative from NASSCOM was also presented by the secretariat. To talk more about collaborative approach and fostering innovation, we had Ajay Kumar from Pitney Bowes sharing insights on their innovation journey & experience of running an incubation for startups. This was followed by brief presentations from two very interesting startups from NCR – Faircent.com (Financial Inclusion) and Smartvizx (Virtual Reality).
