As planned it was launched on 25-Apr-20 for global commercial use with more that 100 city nodes. It was undergoing beta testing for about 6months;

Its main goal is cited to be providing low cost blockchain infra for development, deployment, operations, maintenance and regulation of blockchain applications

BSN is a network of blockchains that can interoperate. BSN provides blockchain as a service and offers convenience like common private key across different frameworks/applications etc. It supports some permissioned Protocols like BCOS (a Chinese adaptation forking from  from Ethereum), Hyperledger Fabric FISCO, BCOS, CITA, XuperChain, Wutong Chain and Brochain and some public blockchain protocols like Ethereum, EOS

With participation of several Chinese gaints and range of blockchain protocols offered and low cost BSN, shows lot of promise of being a game changer. Only obstacle seems to the suspicion of Chinese State’s monitoring in the platform.
