Nowadays, in the market, various firms and developers provide clone apps solutions to run your food delivery business. However, the majority of entrepreneurs prefer to customize delivery apps for restaurant because it fulfills their business requirements, enhances productivity and increases customer base.

Working of food delivery business

The food delivery business is working online with the help of apps and websites. On-demand food delivery platforms are listed with the restaurant partners where they upload their menus and prices. Users need to complete the requisite registration process by giving necessary personal information and then can explore the restaurants and their menus in the app. Users can order as per their convenience and requirements and that at their desired place, whether it is an office, home, etc.

Once the users complete the order, the restaurant partners will get the notification about the order details with the right to either accept the order or decline the request. After the restaurant accepts the order, the delivery valet will receive the notification in the delivery app, which will mention the order details and location.

Delivery valet gets the order depending on the proximity of their site near to the restaurant. The delivery valet will accept the order and move to the restaurant to pick up the order and, in the end, will safely deliver it to the user's destination. Thus, this is how online food delivery is working to provide adequate food delivery service to the customers.

How are the revenues generated?

On-demand food delivery platforms like zomato, Just Eat, GrubHub generate revenues by delivering food ordered from their app. They charge a few commissions from the restaurants for every order that the restaurant receives from their app. The commission percent is fixed and is declared to the restaurant during the time of collaboration. An average of around 20-25% of commission is charged to the restaurant by the platform.

Also, they generate revenues by charging delivery fees from the customers. They again surge prices during the rush hours and earn a lot of money.
