India continues to be the destination of choice for establishing Global Capability Centres (GCCs), driven by the vast talent pool, operational excellence, conducive environment, and supportive policy regime.

In Q3 CY2023, GCCs continued with a renewed focus on India and established 21 new GCCs across various cities in the country, while 8 existing GCCs expanded their operations in India.

 

New GCCs set up in Q3 CY2023

60% of the new GCCs encompassed all three functional areas of ER&D, IT, and BPM. Around 33% of the new GCCs were from the Software and Internet vertical and US MNCs accounted for ~71% of the new GCCs. Some key names include Evonix, UPS, Pioneer, Kraft Heinz, Socionext etc. Out of the 21, 20 were in Tier 1 cities and only 1 was established in a Tier 2 city.

Expansion of established GCCs in Q3 CY2023

8 new centres were expanded by existing GCCs in Q3 CY2023. All of them were established in Tier 1 cities. Software and internet vertical accounted for over 42% of the centre expansion and US MNCs accounted for ~57% of expanded centres of existing GCCs. Some key names include Blackberry, Metlife, Fidelity, Warner Bros. Discovery, Omron etc.
