Dear Members,
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has recently issued the following two consultation papers for the stakeholders feedback.

  1. Consultation paper on ‘Use of street furniture for small cell and aerial fiber deployment’

The consultation paper outlines the importance of enabling easier access of street furniture such as electricity poles, billboards, smart poles, traffic lights etc., for the purpose of deployment of small cell and aerial fibre deployment towards successful roll our of next generation networks such as 5G. The paper thus seeks inputs towards identifying the existing bottlenecks and challenges in accessing the street furniture required for deployment of small cell and aerial fibre using street furniture.
The deadline to share feedback to TRAI is April 20, 2022. We request you to kindly share your inputs to deepak@nasscom.in by April 15, 2022.Click here to view the paper.

  1. Consultation paper on ‘Rating of buildings or areas for digital connectivity’

The paper stresses on the importance of good quality of telecom services in building complexes and areas and thus seek suggestions towards introducing digital infrastructure evaluation matrix for building and areas based on users experience amongst other related matters. It further proposes an enabling environment for the purpose of creating an ecosystem in designing, implementing, operating, maintaining, expanding connectivity through up-gradations to meet future challenges of digital connectivity inside building and areas.
Last date for sending feedback to TRAI is May 4, 2022. We request you to kindly share your inputs to deepak@nasscom.in by April 24, 2022.Click here to view the paper.
