In my last blog post “Return to Office Pushing the Redesigning of Workplaces”, I had discussed the points on why companies are focusing on “return to office” and what companies are doing to make it a seamless transition for employees which includes providing a number of additional perks and redesigning of offices.

With the ever-evolving times we are in companies are looking at a number of initiatives as a response to these changing times. Organizations are focusing on a holistic Employee Value Proposition (EVP) with an increased focus on Learning, Employee Wellbeing, Culture, Environment and Effective Leadership.

Learning and Development have become a prime area of focus for organizations as technology roles continue to evolve demanding new set of skills. According to Harward Business Review the average half-life of skills is now less than five years, and in some tech fields it’s as low as two-and-a-half years.

Also, after the setback that everyone has witnessed during the pandemic, employee wellness has taken center stage across organizations. Consequently, organizations are working towards personalizing employee wellness programs and also providing Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) which covers provision for mental and financial counselling.

The focus on ESG and inclusivity has also become an important focal area for organizations. And what is most important of them all is leaders today have to walk the talk. For any transition to be comfortable its important that leaders of today transform themselves first to reflect of the changing needs of the talent they are leading.
