The COVID-19 pandemic, which is commonly known as Corona Virus, originated from Wuhan, China in the early December 2019. However, it is still difficult to analyze exact reason of the spread of this disease.

India being one of the developing countries, who was already facing an economic slowdown and recession, is also badly hit by this pandemic. India’s timely and tough actions has made India sit in a better position than other advanced nations.

It is sure, that this disease would not leave the world anytime soon, so every citizen has to learn to live with it.

The Quarantine effect can already be seen, though, the full effects of this pandemic are not measured yet, but transformation is already here.

People thought that 2020 will be the year of fun and frolic, with new accomplishments, but this year has planned something else for us.

A return to how life was at the start of 2020 is something different if we compare it to today’s scenario. Whether the lock down restrictions are taken down or not, this disease will continue haunting our lives for many days.

What will be the struggle to get back to how it was before, and what might change forever?

WHAT ARE THESE CHANGES?

  • Your office will look different – The most important aspect, the organization has to think about is, Hygiene. Social Distancing will replace long coffee breaks and lunch breaks. There will be temperature check and people will be seen wearing masks and the shield to cover up their mouth. In addition to all the desk arrangements in the open office area, there would be staggered arrival times which will divert the office foot traffic, staging areas for elevators, and experts say that one way hallways will be created and the seating in the rest areas will be reduced.

“6 feet” office will come in trend, where desks will be surrounded with floor marks indicating how close colleagues will be standing. There might be decrease in open plan offices, and the use of touch free technology like motion sensors and facial recognition will be there.

  • Work from Home to be New Normal– Corona Virus have enabled various creative and effective ways of doing the work from home. When companies were ordered to shut down, the workers and employees specifically the management were reluctant to adjust. But since, no options were left, quick new arrangements were made, where employees were asked to WORK FROM HOME. This experiment proved to be successful for many companies, where they thought it won’t be. Leading organizations like JP Morgan, Facebook, Amazon and Microsoft have already extended their dates to work from home.

I am not sure, how people will adjust after the lock-down ends, as they are super comfortable working now in pajamas and sitting on the couch with their laptops!

Of course working from your sofa or bed sounds great like everything else!

  • Zoom and Google meet to be New Teaching classrooms – It’s not just the Organizations and companies who are affected by this pandemic, but even the schools, colleges and all types of educational institutions have been closed across the world, where both teachers and students quickly got acquainted with remote classrooms. Even some of the exams were taken online. But will it continue even after lock down?
Many experts say, that days of the traditional might end soon. There are lot of websites and companies who have started various courses like UNACADEMY, BYJUS, COURSESERA and many more, which are giving aids to the children.

This is a digital generation, where most of us have gadgets, and why can’t we utilize it for this purpose?

Technology will help motivate students to learn via interactive videos, give feedback and learn without having any pressure of other students. It would be more like a flexible learning.

Many educational institutions are already working on this model of imparting knowledge to the students.

  • Know the importance of Relationships – Although, Corona Virus made us stayed at home, emphasizing on social distancing. However, we all cribbed about why can’t we go out, but there’s a fact, that in our busy life, where we were running like a machine from morning to night, with the same routine, we forgot we have a family. We forgot to be grateful for our little things, that we simply understood its importance today when everyone was locked down in their own houses with loved ones. Ironically, it was all about physical distance, but this virus created new closeness within our families.

When was the last time everyone had a dinner together without having any tension of waking up early to go the office, the next day?

During Lock-down, young people went on long walks they would never have done before, people actually contacted friends they hadn’t been in touch with for a long time.

Where, mostly we used our Whats App and mobile phones taking up messages, we suddenly got to know what it means when it’s all real. This strengthened relationships, be it any. At least, now people would be more grateful and learn how to proximate their relationships.

  • Shifts of Vacations – The pandemic has actually brought travel and tourism industry to a standstill, where no one knows, when it will resume. However, whenever it will restart, I am sure, it wouldn’t be the same. The new travels will shift from flying and train journeys to mostly road trips. The people will be more careful about the hygiene factors at their stays, and will tend to spend more money on the vacay stays.

The trip will all be about domestic destinations which is reachable by car, and staying at private rental properties instead of any crowded hotels and resorts. The vacay essentials kit will include sanitizers, hand wash, soaps and different colors of masks with every outfit.

Parting Thoughts

The world has gone upside down in this year, and to stay optimistic is a real challenge.

But the future brings lot many folds for a country. We have been experiencing shifts in many phases of our lives, but let’s stay positive and think that the change is here, for good. What matters the most is, what changes will be there and how will it impact our lives. Some trends like digitization will be used in most of the domains and work from home will speed up. The new skills which you found of yours, will be enhanced, and new habits will be snapped.

But what remains prevalent is will we be able to adopt these new transformations in our lives?
