Ban on Chinese apps

If ‘Banning of Chinese apps’ is a politically wise decision, then all of it is legitimate, it’s a masterstroke but if we look at the logical side then the story is completely different.
First and foremost it’s an interim decision and not a permanent one. Once the data privacy is sorted out, it will come back. If this is being done for the data privacy or the data theft happening around then the government should have banned Facebook long back when we heard about Facebook stealing our data, we never stopped then. So what’s the biggest threat?
There are a lot of Chinese mobile phones and tracking devices available in India which give more data about India and the entire operations than these apps. These apps got popular because of the good amount of funding. They have been funded well so they are doing well in the market. There are a lot of India based apps which are not popular because they are not getting the right kind of funding. The big Indian start ups like Paytm Zomato, snapdeal etc., chinese investment is there in all of them. A very less amount of VCs come from America or any other European countries who put money into the Indian Start-ups. Now by stopping this, we are going to stop the dreams of many such start-ups. So, when we look at the facts and the stats, it’s astounding. 76 billion dollars worth imports are from china, and we export worth just 16 billion dollars. China happenes to be the 3rd largest export market. We should focus on the long term view. Ban whatever, but can we encourage make in India in the truest sense of the word? And not just thread it with ‘Aatamnirbhar Bharat or ‘Swadeshi’. Small scale manufacturing industries don’t get power for 10 hrs a day. We don’t give power to our manufacturing industries. Forget about police, taxation or any rules or regulations. If we’re really serious about defeating the Chinese, we will have to enable our industries. Can we give them the basics?
