It’s a no-brainer that finding a team that can resonate the same vibes and motive as the founder is always a paramount task. And for someone like me, being in the recruitment field for over 20 years and also helming quite a few companies as founding members, this is one task that always challenges me. But over the years, I have seen a pattern and my blueprint as what I call it, that has largely served me well. And I’m glad to share it out here.

 

A company isn’t just about founders and ideas. Sure, the idea paves way for the founding of the company and the very same idea relays down a vision and mission statement going forth. But a company is more than mere statistical numbers portrayed at the end of the fiscal year. A company is about its people as they are the ones who steer the direction of the ship.

Having a team that is an absolute embodiment of their vision and ideology is a must for any brand aiming for greater success. A team that can inculcate the mission of the company can get more things rolling for the brand than any other team. But it’s easier said than done. Finding that bit of talent does require more than head-hunting.

I for say followed 3 key strategic markers that allowed me to get more hits than fails whilst recruiting my team. This also made sure that I had the best of people who shared the synergy and the consistency of how the brand should perceive.

3 Key Strategies to Build a Team That Resonates True Vision and Mission of the Company

 

1.      Embodiment of Passion

 

A thing that I learned over the years is that finding people who are passionate about making an impact can be a game-changer for the organization. Let’s put it this way. How often do you wake up in the morning and feel strongly about getting out of bed? This may seem like a philosophical question, but believe me, it speaks a lot about the person. A person who has the vigor and spirit to strive forth is always bound to bring their A-game to the table.

 

You see, a company is just like a person who embodies its voice. Having a person who is passionate about getting up and doing their best will always spell good for the brand. A person who can radiate enthusiasm for excitement can give the company a lot more than a normal candidate. They can bring out innovation, creativity, contribution, and can augment the brand’s vision and mission. This spells good for the entire office as their energy can create a positive outlook for the whole office and the workplace in itself can become a hub for activity and growth.

 

2.      Talent, Ability, and Expertise

 

These three words, talent, ability, and expertise are completely different notes, yet when they sync into, a beautiful rhythm sounds. That’s the ceiling that you should aim for when looking for a new team member. Bringing someone who has a fresh and unique take on the business practices or with a modern-day suitable way to the outreach can be great for the organization. Having the ability to take on that talent and bring it into a daily ritual in the form of ability is another major hurdle and if you ever find someone in that ilk, just go and get them.

People who can transpire these three skills are rare and can help you on many levels. They can bring you answers to your existing business problems, find apt solutions, create deeper connections with customers, and also help imbibe the very motive of the brand. A thing to note is also the environment that you present to the employee. If you can bring in an individual with traits of talent and ability and give them an articulate environment, sooner or later they’ll vocalize their expertise and will bring more to the game.

 

3.      Motto, Drive, and Purpose in Life

 

If you see the trajectory of where this is heading, you can figure out that we’re talking more about the person and their qualities rather than what we want them to be. The core aspect of building a team isn’t to find robots and automate things, it’s to find these unique traits and people who bring the new in the game, who in any circumstance can hold their ground and bespoken. These are the things that make them the right candidate for the team, rather than the other way round. A person with passion, talent, ability, and all these traits are key ingredients to becoming a successful individual. So what guides them in their path? It's this coherent belief about their motto, drive, and purpose in life.

Finding the right fit for the team is a lot easier if you can gauge the motto, drive, and purpose of the person in regards to their life. If there are folks that have the confidence and the courage to sketch out things and aim for the absolute top, there’s no doubt that they can aspire and live up to the vision and the mission of the company. A person who has that thought process of bettering themselves throughout their life will always set the ball rolling in the company and create a credible environment for everyone to work in. Being driven in your life can be the best boost when it comes to lifting spirits. A person with such drive can bring immeasurable benefits and results to the whole organization and the company.

 

Wrapping Up

Building a team that can speak the tonality and gets up to the speed of what the company wants can be a hurdle. And it's something every company goes through. But if we look at the bigger picture, and change our approach to recruitment and finding people, a lot of the tedious tasks can be lessened. For me, I sensed that it should be more about the person rather than about the company when it comes to building a team. And it has worked most of the time and especially for high-profile positions.

A person who is assured, purposeful, driven, and aspires to be the best will always steer the company in the right direction. Their aura, enthusiasm, and authenticity are something that you can never simply replace. These intangible assets of a person are actually what makes them the right candidate and this is how we all should seek when building a team.
