Technology and Leadership: Getting More Deeply Intertwined in 2020

Its the start of a new decade, a decade that NASSCOM is labeling as ‘Techade‘ – where technology and leadership will become more intertwined, where the future of countries, companies, citizens will be led by accelerated digitization and emerging technologies that re-imagine outcomes, impact and access.

Interestingly, NASSCOM’s flagship platform – the NASSCOM Technology and Leadership Forum (NTLF) 2020 kicks off on 12th February and will be the melting point for conversations, debates, perspectives on Tech in 20s and how that is building a future where the success enablers will be data, digital and domain.

After immense debate and research, the NTLF team shortlisted 4 mega trends that will define the decade of the 20’s. These include:

  1. Age of Entrepreneurs

Start-ups became the cool buzzword in the last decade and the entire ecosystem geared towards helping these startups scale, solve unique problems, leverage data and domain and build new products. What will the entrepreneurship journey be in the 20s – is it about building sustainable companies, is it about solving the big exponential hairy goals, it is about changing how we learn, work and play. There are numerous questions and NTLF 2020 will hear from entrepreneurs, VCs, business leaders – why this decade will about entrepreneurs and what will define success in the 20s.

  1. Tech Coming of Age

My twitter feed is a constant source of inspiration on emerging tech and interesting use cases on adoption. AI, Blockchain, Mixed Reality, IoT, Cloud are much more real today and there is increasing talk of quantum computing, genomics, 5G and an increasingly converged future. Our prediction is that tech will come of age in the 20’s – these technologies will mature, reshape or possibly disappear, but tech will stay as the foundation for any enterprise, government or consumers. NTLF 2020 takes a deep look at both the emerging tech landscape and how organizations are building for the future.

  1. The Learning Organization

Organizations that will thrive in the decade of the 20s will have a clear differentiator – they need to be a ‘Learning Organization’. From building learning programs for its employees, to how the organization is structured for future of work and how the leadership demonstrates key skills – the learning organization will be determinant of its ability to learn, unlearn and re-learn. NTLF 2020 will help you discover the key features of the Learning Organization and how leaders are re-purposing their organizations to building learning agility.

  1. Trust

We are increasingly living in a polarized world where geopolitics, protectionism, data protection, regulatory environment, all point to one missing ingredient – TRUST.  In the decade of the 20s will we see more walls getting created across nations, companies, citizens or will see these walls getting dismantled. Will data protection and privacy be only about a regulatory environment or will there be data trusts that provide the environment for data flow. Will the success leader of the 20’s prioritize TRUST as their number one value, will nations build on the globalization theme or will we see a reversal. The questions are endless and #NTLF2020 will debate many of these themes and provide perspectives on what are the different directions that lie ahead.

Apart from all the intellectual stimulation, NTLF 2020 is about business connects, explore innovation partnerships, discover new business ideas and chart the course for the short term and the decade.

Do block your seat and register at the earliest. We look forward to welcoming you from 12th-14th February in Grand Hyatt Mumbai!
