“There are no shortcuts to being an Olympian.”

No matter which field we are in, having an Olympian attitude is all about having the right mindset. As India has created history in #Tokyo2020, let’s celebrate the Olympian mindset here at NASSCOM.

Each one of us is an Olympian at work. Let’s read about a few qualities that will unleash the Olympian within us:

1.     Goal Setting

Like athletes compete with one goal in common, here at NASSCOM we also believe in having one goal in mind i.e., One NASSCOM. We have a master plan, but the idea is to first achieve the smaller goals that we have set to be able to achieve the main goal. Identifying our goal, aligning it with NASSCOM’s goal, knowing which path to take, which people to interact with and the perfect approach is the key to be the winners of the show.

2.     Focus on bettering self

Real change comes when we focus on ourselves. The best way to grow is to focus on self-improvement rather than comparing ourselves with our colleagues or competitors. The only competition we have is the one with our own self. Athletes believe in beating their own personal best and just focus on bettering themselves, let’s do the same.

3.     Continuous Learning

Olympians are coachable. They are open-minded, disciplined and always ready to train their brain. It is important to listen to others, learn from feedback and put in some extra hours in training and development.  NASSCOM offers a FutureSkills programme for all our employees and believes that by upskilling, learning something new or brushing up on a skill is what will keep us mentally agile and informed.

4.     Think BIG & Desire to WIN

Olympians prepare themselves mentally by visualizing their highest self. No matter how great we are doing right now, we cannot get complacent. The thirst, drive and desire to achieve bigger goals is important. Staying motivated and delivering the highest possible impact in both the tech industry and India are our key values that we practice at NASSCOM.

5.     Be full of passion

The most important thing above all is to love what we do and do it with passion. Athletes dedicate their lives to sports because it's their passion. The only way to grow as an employee is to grow as a person which happens when we love the work we do and are extremely driven towards it. It is the positive energy, effort, attitude, and passion that truly makes all the difference.

Final Thoughts

To build a culture of excellence, our VALUES and qualities empower each one of us to be our best.

Each one of us is a GOLD MEDALIST as gold medals aren’t just made of gold; they are made of focused goals, trust, determination, constant learning, and passion which we all have within us.

Let’s continue to emulate these Olympian qualities in our workplace and be our best versions!
